2024 Summer Dance Camps
Come join us for an exciting, fun-filled week celebrating the timeless magic of The Nutcracker!
Dancers will explore many different roles from the Party and Battle Scene, Snow Scene, and The Land of Sweets!
Pre-Ballet thru level 3 activities include crafts, games, and a ballet class, all related to the day’s theme.
You do not need to be currently enrolled in our classes to attend!

Auditions
High Country Youth Ballet and Blue Ridge Performing Arts Academy are thrilled to present the thirteenth
production of The Nutcracker on December 14 & 15, 2024, at Hayes Auditorium, Lees-McRae College.
BRPAA dancers in kindergarten through grade twelve will be assigned roles based on their placement class, and
every dancer will have a role. Levels 4 & 5 (Rising 5th - 12th graders), having at least two consecutive years of ballet
training, may audition for the additional roles of Clara, Ballerina Doll, Military Doll, Candy Canes, Snowflakes,
Lead Arabian, Arabian Corps, Spanish, Russian Trepak, Dew Drop Fairy, Snow Queen, and Sugar Plum Fairy.
These roles will be cast following an audition on July 26, 2024.

Nutcracker Bootcamp
Levels 4 & 5 (Rising 5th - 12th graders)

Nutcracker Bootcamp provides daily technique practice and an early learning of Nutcracker dances for
the December 2024 performance. While participation is not required to dance in the Nutcracker,
it may influence casting as commitment is valued in addition to ability.
Cost: $150

Times: 4:00pm – 8:00pm
