Home of the High Country Youth Ballet
At Blue Ridge Performing Arts Academy it is our mission to provide the highest level of artistic education for students in the Avery County area, to enrich their lives, and to help them reach their fullest potential as artists, leaders, and citizens. We proudly offer instruction in Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Liturgical, Piano, and Voice for children ages 24 months thru 12th grade.

Christmas Break The studio will be closed for Christmas break from December 14th through January 1st.

Newland Christmas Parade All dance and music students are invited to ride our float!
Pre-Ballet will need to have a parent ride with them. Parade begins at 5pm. |

THANKSGIVING BREAK There will be no classes November 27-28.

VETERANS DAY The studio will be open on Monday, November 11th for all dance classes.

ATTENTION DANCE & PIANO FAMILIES Classes will start back the week of November 4th!
Please check the schedule to see if your dancer's class time has changed. The schedule has been slightly revised in order for classes to let out a little earlier. We can't wait to see everyone back in the studio!!! We're accepting new students!

NUTCRACKER CANCELLATION Sadly, this year's Nutcracker performance has been canceled due to severe weather impacts from Hurricane Helene. While it won't be possible to host this event in 2024, we look forward to staging The Nutcracker ballet next year in 2025.

AVERY HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING PARADE
Friday, September 20, 2024 - Meet on the square in Newland at 3:30 pm.
- Parade starts at 4:00 pm. - Children ages 7 and younger will need a parent to ride or walk with them. - Bring your favorite candy to throw! - Dancers will be picked up after the parade in the Family Dollar parking lot. **No dance classes on parade day! Watch your emails for class make up dates! |

Nutcracker Auditions Dancers in grades 5 thru 12 who are enrolled in ballet classes at BRPAA, having at least 2 consecutive years of ballet training, are eligible to audition for the parts of Clara, Ballerina Doll, Military Doll, Spanish, Russian Trepak, Arabian, Dew Drop, Snow Queen, Snowflakes, Sugar Plum Fairy, Candy Canes, and Understudies. Auditions will be held at BRPAA on July 26 from 4-7pm. For more information, follow the link below. |

2024 Spring Dance Showcase Our 4th annual spring dance showcase will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 6:30 pm and Sunday, June 2nd at 3:00 pm. Banner Elk Elementary School The public is invited to attend. Entry is by donation (no ticket needed). |
