Dress for success! Now that you have decided to dance with us, it is time to prepare your child for success in the classroom by purchasing appropriate dancewear.

- If your child is moving up a level, please check the shoe requirements, as the style(s) may have changed.
- Please note that sweatshirts, sweatpants, and leggings are not allowed in dance class. If your dancer feels cold, she may wear leg warmers and a fitted sweater made for dance.
- Hair must be in a neat bun for all dance classes; short hair must be secured away from face.
- No jewelry other than post earrings is allowed. This is for your child’s safety and others as well.
- Dance shoes should NEVER be worn outside the studio.
- We sell everything your child needs for dance class in our studio boutique, which is conveniently located in our lobby. Shop during our open house dates and avoid second trips and returns. This is the most convenient way to shop for dancewear, and you’ll know you’re getting the right shoes for your child’s class.
- Dancey’s Shoes and Scrubs in Boone carries a large selection of Capezio tights, leotards, and shoes.

- Organization and communication are very important to us.
- Our primary form of communication is done via email and text messages.
- Please be sure to add us to your contact list to ensure that you never miss an important message.
Please review our studio policies in full HERE.
- The studio entrance is at the back of the building. Parents have the option to drop off and pick up their dancers at our door or stay in the waiting area during class time.
- Parents are not allowed in the dance room. We find that dancers are more focused and perform better with less people in the room.
- No gum, eating, or drinking (except for water) allowed in the dance room. All students are responsible for cleaning up after themselves.
- If a student needs to leave class early, please notify the teacher before class.
- Classes will not automatically be canceled when Avery County Schools are closed.
- Our studio website should be your go-to spot for studio updates and weather related closures. http://www.blueridgeperformingarts.com
- In the event of inclement weather, a decision regarding studio closure will be made by 2:00 pm that day.
- Announcements will be made via email, our website, social media, and studio phone recording.
- If classes are canceled by the studio for any reason, makeup classes may be scheduled by the instructor on a Saturday or Sunday.
Join us for Open House on one of the dates below. This is a great opportunity to meet your teacher, tour the studio, get fitted for dance shoes, and purchase leotards and tights.
